Trans tem gauge

Hey all I drive an 02 intrepid 3.5 and I do tow a littl bit with it. I tow with O/D off but I can still tell that my tranny is getting hot does anyone know how to put a tran temp gauge on it so i can tell what im running at? thanks

Yeah, the best thing to do is to have your pan modified for the sender you will need to install to make the gauge work. Also, while you have the pan off, do yourself a favor and have a drain plug installed. Will make transmission service easier.
Get an electronic gauge, and you should be all set.

I would buy a pan from the junkyard since they're a dime a dozen of first gens and 2.7L LH cars.
That way if you mess up some how you wouldn't have to worry about a new pan.

The only problem with junkyard pans is that in most cases, they poke holes in them to drain the transmission fluid. Usually, that hole in not in a good spot.

I would get a new one from the dealer. IIRC, they are not that expensive from the dealer.
