Question transmission question?

hey guys, noob here. first off i have a 2000 trep. originally had a 2.7 but now has the 3.2. had to swap it after my dad got the car back from chicago. the oil pan was filled with sludge. anyways its running off the 2.7 ecm. all stock except wheel covers headlights and a cd player. we will get back to the engine mod i have for it at a later date. lol the reason im posting, and i hope its in the rigth forum, is i have an extra 3.2 sitting in the shop behind my house and im wondering if anyone knows what, if any, 5 spd rwd tranny that will bolt up to it, if it is even possible?

from what i have seen (or read) is that switching to RWD is a larger task then most realize, however i would think that it may be easier then switching many other FWD cars because our engine is forward facing (i heard dodge was the first to put a FWD with a forward facing engine and in in this car? 1st gen of course) while quite a few FWD engines are sideways... know this isnt much help, but my 2 cents im sure someone will come along will some better info

Will a 5 spd bolt up to a 3.2. Sure, the Mercedes 5 spd auto from the LX cars. Will it work in an LH without EXTENSIVE mods? Nope

The reason im asking is because I have a 1980 fiat that im working on. its a rwd chassis. Alrdy having an engine ( the extra 3.2 ) cuts my costs of getting it running and driving considerably. It just comes down to weather or not there is a rwd 5spd that will bolt to the 3.2

Not entirely true. Olds Toronados, Saab's from the 80s and early 90s. Many Audi's...etc. There are plenty of FWD longitudinal engines out before the LH was even a sparkle in Iaccoca's eye

The Tremec TR6060 bolts up to the Hemi and so does the Merc tranny. So it should bolt up to a 3.2 along with a T56 since a 6060 is just an evolved 56

Nxt question. With that tranny is there any other mods I will have to do to get it running off that engine? Ive also heard that the turbo v6 and Trans from a gnx will drop right into the fiat. But that is also an iron block. In a small convertable that weighs less than 2500 lbs. The lighter 3.2 would be better performance wise based on weight. And I can always swap in a 4.0 Stroker once its running
