Need help, loss of power/stalling out

I posted on this a little bit before, but this time I was actually in the car when it was doing it, and now its doing it consistently.. so to start off this is a 03 Intrepid, with the damn 2.7, lol. So what it does, is it loses power, when your driving the rpm gauge will go crazy, and the car will act like someones giving it gas, then lettin off, then giving it gas then lettin off (but they're not), like the power kicks in and out, in and out. when its parked and started the idle is very rough like it wants to stall out, and now it actually will. put if you put it in Drive, and are not movin and hold your foot on the break, it'll do the vroom, nothin, vroom, nothin, vroom, nothin, with a real jerky feeling thru the whole car. Im really hoping this is some kind of sensor... maybe the AIC, or the fuel ratio sensor or oxygen sensor or whatever. I really don't know. but as of now the car will not even stay idling, it will start right up but then immediatley stall if you don't give it any gas. I'd appreciate any help or suggestions as my wife needs this car for work. Also, absolutely no codes pop up.. was really hopin some would so I would have a direction to go in. when the car did this before, it'd do it for a min, and then would be fine for a week or so, then do it again, and then be fine for another week, now its consistent. so obviously somethin has been goin out, just don't know what. tryin to avoid the shops if I can, don't wanna pay that kinda money if its somethin I can fix myself.

pull the intake plenum and clean it and the throttle body, careful with the sensors. also replace the spark plugs if you haven't already, only use champion or NGK.

i have personally had a very similar problem with the egr valve, so thats where i would start. can be replaced or capped.

With the tach "Going Crazy", I'd be looking at the crank sensor as a first item. Better yet, Crank AND Cam sensors for this one!

thanx for the replies

Ok, so I did clean out the plenum and the throttle body out and cleaned em, also cleaned the IAC (which was nasty I might add), and I also found a vacuum line that was broke... it goes to whatever that is in front of the lil computer relay box.. a silver cylinder look think that has a vaccum line attatched to it that also attatches to the throttle.. have no idea what it is.. As far as a EGR valve, I don't think my car has one, i called auto parts stores lookin for one to get a price, and they don't even list em, then I called the dealer, and they said it may or may not have one, they told me where it should be if I had one, and there is nothing there. I also disconnected the battery to try and "reset" the computer after I did all this. Keep in mind I never had a check engine light, or no codes would pop up. I also changed the spark plugs.
So when I started it up, it would idle perfect.. drove perfect .... runs great like when I first got it. but NOW it has the checkin engine light... wtf?? but its runnin excellent.. guess I'll see what code pops up now that the light is on. I may not have put the tps sensor back in right, i'll have to go an double check. but thanks for the advice, it has seemed to help!

That would be the cruise control servo unit (vacuum operated, pulls on the throttle to regulate speed).

Correct - EGR was decontented with '03 MY (maybe mid-'02?).
