Can't find right Muffler

Hey guys looking for some direction here... I want to change my exhaust (get rid of second resonator and replace muff for a dual look..) but I can't seem to find the muffler itself.

I've been to http://www.mandrelexhaustsystems.com...ID-DUAL/Detail but it's too costly and I have access to a pipe shop for bending.. just looking for the muffler.

One idea is to buy a flowmaster for an 87 camaro and go from there.. if anyone can guide me to what model and make of muffler that would be appreciated.

http://www.thrushexhaust.com/pdf/thrush.pdf

Look at the 17652
That should do the trick...

2.25" center in, 2.25" x 2 out

Though, if it were me...I would run true duals....
Do a 17637 in place of the front resonator, and run duals out the back.

I like the look of that Thrush 17637 , I wonder if it would be a good replacement to the Specials front resonator?

17652 is the right diameter but it's more the 17638 that I'm after. I have access to a pipe stretcher so I can step up the pipe to 2.5

Quick question found a flowmaster for $25. It's got 2.5 in and 3 in outlets. Would that affect the performance?

You don't want to expand the pipes any. 2.25" is the size that is on our cars now.
Larger pipe, and you will lose some of the gains you get from having the duals.
Stick to 2.25"

I'm only stepping it at the inlet. The out are 3'. As for the other mufflers all the ones that were 2.25 didn't have the setup I want.

Was looking for the right direction to get the muffler I wanted.. (Pics at start of thread...) but it's ok I got a flowmaster 80 with offset inlet and dual (opposite) outlet.. according to the flowmaster website in & our is only .25 more then stock so it isn't too bad.

One thing that confuses me... our 2.25 is that inner diameter or outter?

So you wanted a crossflow mufffler?
2.25 diameter could be inner/outer.
2.25 inner will slide onto a 2.25 outer

I'm still not getting it... for the stock pipe going into the muffler, the muffler I have is a 3' inner diameter I'm gonna need a step up so is the 2.25 inner - 3' outer gonna work?

EDIT this is the muffler I got for $25 http://www.flowmastermufflers.com/sh...oducts_id=3358

You are going to have to go from 2.25" to 3"
Any qualified shop can make that happen.

took a bit of traveling (most of the shops I went to said that bumping from 2 1/4 ID to 3" OD would cause the pipe to split.) Two that said they could do it were gonna charge me 350$+ to install my muffler and make custom tail pipes. $160 just to install my muffler.. what a joke.

Eventually I went to Minute Muffler and they did everything for $100, looks and sounds sweet. Didn't go with tips just turndown pipes for tail end.. might go with tips eventually...
