Remote start --- activating heated seats also.

Hey guys so this has been eating away at me... when I put the new seats in I've been trying to figure out a way to have my seats activated also.

after many hours of surfing I found a couple of sites explaining ... specifically one from dodgetalk.net a guy there managed to get his going in his durango said he just needed a resistor to separate hi/low signal ( like door locking wire)... my question is does anyone happen to know what the resistance for hi is?

My idea is my remote start activates my rear defogger so I was thinking of having that activate the seat also...

Read this thread: http://300mclub.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=52&t=24366

Since I don't have heated seats and the descriptive info. in the FSM is muddy, we had to feel our way along. But by my asking questions, we found the answers.

BTW - the circuits/schematics for '04 and '02 are identical for the heated seats, so everything said in that thread applies. And the resistor values are on p. 8G-11 of the '04 FSM.

You seem to enjoy challenges. Let us know how this works out.

Ahh - sorry about that. The title ("Seat-warmer diagram/schematic...") won't help, as that section is paid members only no matter how you try to get to it.

You appear to have the idea from the schematics, and now you know the resistor value needed. Momentary contact closure of that resistance across the switch should do it.

Hi guys following this thread
I got some 300M seats installed in my Trep '99 ES, ofc the heating kable cant plug in anywhere underneath. I thought it would be fairly easy to just grab 12V/GND off the memory wire/plug, and then heating would work ? Or is that somewhat more complicated to get working...

Cheers

The driver and passenger seats need to be linked for it to function propperly. I know that you have to run those wires and also run a couple to either the bcm or junction box at least doe 2002 +. For 99's not too sure. If you search the forums you will come across some other members with detailed info. Focus your search in the first gen part. When I get home ill see if I can find some 99 wiring schematics and post them for you.
