Angry Engine codes

Accidentally, I stumbled upon the key dance, and found I have two engine codes

P1685
And
P1684

Was just wondering what those codes mean, and the car still runs, so what should I expect?

Thanks

Pretty sure 1684 is 'battery disconnected within last 50 starts' I have the same on my car right now. Not sure what 1685 is...

Some light reading for you tho...

P1685 Skim Invalid Key

The engine controller has received an invalid key from the
SKIM.

Sounds like your key is going bad. Do you have a 2nd key to use?

Oh so there's actually a chip in the key? Yes, I have 2 keys.

In either, case, my friend who's currently studying at Harrisburg College for automotive repair said that if my check engine light isnt on, not to worry.

1684 kinda makes me wonder though, because I've had the car since July, and surely I've started the car more then 50 times..

So, should I check into seeing if my terminals are clean?

Sorry for asking so many questions, I seem to be just full of them.

1684 is a worthless code. I'd ignore that.

Use your 2nd key and see what happens. Disconnect the battery at the negative jump post on the passenger side strut tower for a few minutes to reset the codes and use your 2nd key and see what happens. It's possible the SKIM module antenna that surrounds the ignition lock cylinder on the steering column might be failing also. Try the easy things first.

Figured. I just wanted to make sure we were all good in my end.

I'll check the negative battery tomorrow. It's dark here, and I don't possess a garage.. Thanks for the help
