Swap Clarifications

If all goes well I will finally make it to the junkyard, but need to make sure I have everything understood first, since cars choices are slim. My plans, a step at a time, involve changing to heated/memory seats, heated/turn/memory mirrors, dash swap and rear door courtsey lights. I know there are some difference between 98-00 and 02-04 wiring. I think I will stay away from 01 if possible, although one yard has quite a few 01 300Ms. My non-Intrepid picks are 99-01 300Ms and 00-02 Concordes. I'm not expecting to be able to grab everything from one vehicle, but would like to grab as much as I can without having to back track in the progression.

I know for the mirrors I will need the door wiring for plug-n-play, but does the wiring need to come from only 2002+ Specials?

When changing the rear door wiring, am I going to run into problems with connectors not working with windows and locks?

As far as the seats, I have read it is best to swap the body harness, but does this have to come from a 300 or will a Concorde work? Again will there be connection issues, defroster, connecting to doors, etc?

As it stands right now, the most important part would be the body harness, since I already have seats and carpet out. Then would be dash, since it's cracked and I'm probably going to jump the gun and replace the heater core and stuff. So essentially I am working from the inner outward, while maintaining a working vehicle. Since you guys are more knowledgable/experienced, maybe you'll have a better junkyard plan of attack. I am not getting seats/mirrors right now, but aiming at getting all the wiring changed so those pieces will just be plug-n-play.

Found a 2000 300M for a donor, just have to tell him everything I will need. So will 2002+ front door harnesses plug fine with a 2000 body/dash harness?

I believe the connectors are different between those years for the large connector on the door harness/door frame. There won't be some of the wiring for the heated/memory mirrors on the body side of your main harness either. You'd need to either add that wiring to the body harness or replace your current body harness with the 2002 one.

Gotcha. So I just need to get the body, dash and all 4 doors' wiring from a 2002+ 300M. Will there still be a problem with the 2002+ wiring connecting with the engine side wiring? What about connecting to '99 items, such as window motors, rear defroster, etc? Reason I ask is with my '00 Durango a power lock from a 02-03 will not work, due to the connection being different. I would hate to change out and discover I can't plug into ATC and all that. lol

Check with Dan (Daytrepper) about the body harness to engine harness compatibility. He installed a complete 2002 body/door harness in what was his 1999 or 2000 car.

For the rear doors the only difference back there functionally would be if the donor car has the Infinity II sound system. If it does then there's wiring for the rear door speakers which are located above the inside door pull handle. I'd have to check on the rear door frame connectors to see if they're different.

Also when you go to a 300m body harness from a car with the Infinity II system you're looking at having to get the 360 watt amp located in the trunk on a 300m. They're cheap. Otherwise you'll have to do some cutting splicing.
