Paxton Supercharger

Hey guys! I have a 1st gen Intrepid, so this wouldn't really apply to me, however, did you guys know that Paxton makes a complete supercharger kit for the Prowler? And I'm sure most of you know that the Prowler has the same engine as the Intrepid. The kit comes with new headers, which may or may not fit on the intrepid, but who cares. I am more concerned with the claimed 40-45% gain you would get out of the engine. It comes as a complete kit, with all the new computer systems you would need for the timing and fuel delivery under boost. Now, I have one question: Has anyone attempted this, or is anyone thinking about this? It would be the perfect way to increase power in the Intrepids. Now, if you take the claimed 40-45% claimed increase in power, that about 356 Horsepower total. WOW!!! I'm sure its not actually that much, but still, this could make your intrepid eat mustangs, let alone these stupid rice boys in their civics!!! Mind you, the kit is 6 grand, but would be totally worth it if you had the money!!!

Anyone thinking of this?
It sure would make for a sweet Intrepid!!!

Problem is according to "Paxton" is it won't fit under the hood of the Trep. The exhaust manifold hits the supercharger and the ones Paxton supplys can't go on the trep.

Prowlers use a different exhaust manifold so Im told.

I have asked paxton to address the issue because there would be more sales for them, but they are not interested.

That would be sweet if i could work, but my question is how well would the stock tranny hold up to the large HP gain?

Gee, like we haven't heard that before. I think the aftermarket manufacturers have parts for about three Chrysler vehicles: Neon, Viper and Prowler. We always get screwed! Meanwhile you got Kenny Brown souping up Crown Vics and calling them "Panthers." When is it our turn.

Hmmmmmm. Maybe this is something I could apply my engineering knowledge to.... I mean since I am graduating this semester and I have no job to go to. :(

Well if I had the thousands of dollars avalible I would get the kit and reengineer it to fit.

Would be nice to see if it was a fit issue or just a not interested on paxtons part.

The Prowler tranny is the same as the Treps, but just has a different bell housing and is located in the rear.

I'm curious, I have heard in couple different threads this same message that there are superchargers for Prowlers but not Intrepid R/Ts. Does anyone know how many Prowlers have been sold versus the number of Intrepid R/Ts? I never thought of the Prowler as a "common" car, surely Paxton would have a larger customer base if they addressed the Intrepid community. Even if they only made the product for the 3.2L and 3.5L owners, that would seem to me to be a HUGE market. And I'm NOT forgetting the 2.7L folks, I'm just greedy and want more power for my R/T and want it NOW!

Maybe if all 540 members on this board write them a letter and someone is willing enough to donate their car for them to test on then i gurantee you they will make one. Because they are in it for the money and thats all

For what it' worth - I know I read a post a short time ago which said Kenny Bell had a chip for the R/T which delivers another 25 hp for around 319.00 if I remember correctly.

Paxton used to be good about working with
guys like ourselves to modify their superchargers to fit different applications. That's not like them.

I don't know about anyone else's 3.2L, but I don't see how *anything* else could fit in the engine bay! :O

but if you could get a custom exhaust manifold made, so that the supercharger would fit, it could work. I'm sure there are places that could do something custom about that, but it would be pricey. But again, the supercharger is about 6 grand, so if you got the money for the super, I am sure you have the money to get a custom exhaust manifold (or simply custom headers)!!!

But a 350HP trep would be sooo sweet when you took a look at that clown in the civic next to you!!!!

Hey guys, got rice?
MUAHAHAHAH!!!!
