'02 Intrepid SXT Rear Speakers

My daughter's car has on rear speaker that is not working. So far, everything I have read says you have to take out the rear seat but she has rear folding seats (60/40 split). Do I still have to take out the rear seat? Do you just pull the fabric down in the trunk to get to the speaker? Bottom line, looking for help on how to change the rear speaker in a 2002 Intrepid SXT with folding seats. Thanks!!!!

Yes, you will have to remove the bottom and rear seat back. Once those are off, carefully remove the pillar trim on each side. Then you can slide the carpeted piece that covers the rear deck towards you to expose the speakers. The speakers are sitting on top of the deck and screwed in. So even if you could access them from the bottom, you wouldn't be able to do much.

the speakers will be 6x9 size and easily replaced...but remember that if you have the infinity system with an amp, you'll need to use 2 OHM speakers to replace them...I used Infinity Kappa's and they are alot better than stock but still 2 OHM....

He may have the Infinity system but most likely has the Midline. Midline uses standard 4ohm speakers.
