6x9's in front doors

Hi all,

I remember a while back, I saw a thread about some one who had built custom enclosures to have 6x9 speakers in his front doors, but I can't find it anymore.

Anyone know which post/user it is?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Was it maybe for some huge fiberglass enclosures for 6" component speakers? I don't know that 6x9 has been done... That's quite a speaker to mount in the front doors.

CaptainMorgan I think did it. I should check.

I would recommend not putting 6x9s in your front doors.

I have to agree with Nate, why would you want them there anyways?

^^ this

i have all stock speakers with aftermarket head unit and subs and i have the settings with the balance going slightly more to the back then the front, front has 3 tweets and two door speakers while the rear only has the two decks.

so if anything why not look into adding door pods or tweets into the rears?

I'm starting to wonder if it's not my 2 way 6" that are the problem.

I wanted the 6x9 to get better bass all around especially on the highway.

The ones I have in the rear deck sound good when cruising the city, but I loose a lot of the low frequencies when going down the highway at 70mph+.

If I remember correctly, only a board of wood to match the grille was used and the speaker was mounted to the board.

6x9s wont give you any better bass than a good pair of properly set up 6" will.

Not worth the effort. Just get some good quality 6.5"s
