well mod bugs got me again... looking to install some heated mirrors from a 300 but just wondering what I need.
04 trep SE I have the 300 seats with memory. Just wondering 2 things...
1. what year donor car should I be looking for... (not interested in the mirror signals)
2 what kind of wiring would I need... I read that I would need to run a wire from the defroster relay in the trunk with a 10A fuse... what else? My car currently has Power mirrors.
Also just wondering if 300 inner door trim would fit on a trep or would I have to do a complete interior change.. mainly I'm after the chrome switches and door handle..I know I can pull out the switches but what about the door handles?
I need to do this myself. You'll have to fish a wire through the door, and get the hunk of wiring out of a donor car. there;s an inline fuse somewhere like you say, I haven't gone to a yard to hunt for it yet.
According to the FSM it's located in the trunk by the antenna (coming off the Rear defroster relay.) As for the door harness was just gonna grab that maybe... but definitely not doing a body harness swap.. too much downtime for the car. Most likely gonna make my own wiring harness from the driver seat module to the passenger and driver sides... Unless I have the wiring already In my body harness.. gonna take a peak in the near future... what about the 300 door trims? do they match with the treps?
Meh I have no quams with running my own wiring... got a good idea on how to run it through the door... as for the mirrors was wondering what year to go for... seems like 01-02 are the best from what I've been reading...
what about the front door trims? are they just swap and go? I know for the rears they have to be modded.. also did you get my pm Paint?
You can swap handles and switches pretty easily. You can fit front M doors on a trep no problem. But, IRC the passenger side upper panel and dash area don't really line up so it looks weird.
Like I said, 02 is the best, followed by 01 then 03-04.
Well got the new mirrors and got them installed along with the chrome handles... going to hook up the memory & heat on a later day... but in the process was undoing my rear view and slipped wound up taking a chunk out of my windshield... any idea if this can be repaired or do I have to go replace?
The chunk is only missing on the inside.. the outside has no break..
it's not a crack though lol it's an actual chunk... and it didn't go all they way through just in a little ... going to take it in tomorrow... just hoping it can be fixed lol...
Dammit turns out need a new windshield. $302 down the drain lol. But on the bright side got a deal on tinting. $180 instead of $299
