Adding the Cost-Cut motor onto a 2003 Passenger Frame.

Among the mods this weekend, this is one that I had never attempted before. I'm attempting to delete all Chrysler cost cutting. I have done LOTS of other mods in the last 3 weeks on my new 300m, however I thought I would make a separate thread on this.

Basically, I went ahead and pulled the deleted motor from a 99 frame and installed it onto my 2003 Seat frame. I then used the 1999 seat Wiring harness. The airbag harness is separated from the main power harness, and was not affected.

99 Frame:

2003 Frame with 99 Motor and gearing next to it:

2003 Frame with installed motor:

Video of functionality:

The 2003 Switch already contained all the functionality, the trim however limited the switch so that it couldn't move. You have to modify the trim to allow the switch to move:

Here is the 99 trim compared to the 2003 trim:

I also replaced the black buttons with the switches from a 2001 L2 pieces.

Hey Jason,
If you aren't going to use that piece of trim, could I get it from you?
I need one for my seat.
Please let me know.

Nice mod BTW, I have thought of doing that one myself...

Its broke...as lots of the trim pieces do the tab that goes directly under the front portion of the seat snapped off. They seem to be no match for us heavier guys.

Tom, if you need one of those I can look at my extra stock and see if I have one that isn't broke.
