Question Anyone else have this switch?

Hey guys,

Does anyone else have this switch underneath their dashboard on the driver's side? I just bought my car (1998 base Intrepid with the 2.7L) not too long ago and thought it came with all Intrepids. I've looked in other Intrepids (2nd Gens) and saw nothing like it in them. Any thoughts as to what it could be for?

Man, if I knew about this earlier, I would not have sold my Trans-AM. Is that switch for sale????

It's funny because ever since I bought the car, it was left at the "on" position. I am a bit afraid of switching it to "off" as I'm worried that this car DOES have a system to combat sludge. I will look into it. Sorry Kumiyer, the switch not for sale (at the moment).

Does you current car with the switch have a remote start? i beleive that is what that switch is for. You can disable the switch. I also have one.

Hey did you know that my car has a switch to dispense beer into a cup for me?
Listen; IGNORE Peppa Dick... he really is a 9 yr old girl just trying to stir crap up around here. There is NO SUCH THING as a switch to eliminate sludge... using synthetic motor oil will help you combat sludge.
And if you were being sarcastic about thinking that it's a switch to combat motor sludge, then I am sorry.

Ok,

I don't have a lot of knowledge on the workings of cars. I'm not saying that this is a switch for some system in my car to help combat the "sludge problem" some of the 2.7Ls have (man I really wish I got an Intrepid with at least a 3.2L so I wouldn't have to grow some grey hairs on the 2.7L problem). I still have to see what the wires are connected to. This may take a while for a newbie like me. Anyone in Edmonton that's willing to help are welcome.

I just wanted some input from everyone. Although, me being new to this all I will admit that I did think at first that this may be a switch for the "Sludge-be-gone 3000". As soon as I find out what this switch is for, I'll be sure to let you guys know. Maybe it's a switch that turns my car into a submarine.

does the car have aftermarket fog lights?
does the car have any other type of "accessory" that this thing might control?
Who knows? I have a switch in the same area...but it is for my fogs.

Ok, the only way to truly figure out what this switch does is to flip it in the opposite direction and see what happens. It's not going to blow your car, or cuase it to malfunction. Worse comes to worse IF something bad does happen, just flip the switch to the position that it is in now. Maybe the previous owner was 1/2 done with a mod and sold it. Who knows.

It's a turbo boost switch, just like the one Hasselhoff had on his car on Knight Rider!!!

Okay the gag is up. It's not even remotely funny. Instead of bashing on people that have 2.7L's why don't you make something of YOUR car instead of posting dirty ass nasty pictures. My 93 would waste yours totally because it wasn't weighed down with dirt.

Try and beat this:

So either put up or shut up!

Want to know what's really funny. The dipshit constantly pokes fun at the 2.7 motor... but his car always seems to be fucked up. o2 sensors, limp mode... typical piece of shit. My 2.7 is as strong as an ox. And would smoke check the peppa fag's car anyday.
