Post '94 LHS parts for '03 Intrepid?

I have a '94 LHS that I needed to replace due to engine failure from flooding so I bought an '03 Intrepid that was previously owned by a security firm (nice 3.5 HO). The interior is leather although very plain and not too comfortable compared to my '94 LHS. I was wondering if anyone knew if the seats from the LHS would fit into the Intrepid or how I could find this out besides measuring, removing and trying?

Wow, never heard of someone using 1G stuff on a 2G. Pretty sure the 2G stuff fits on a 1G, so it should work in reverse.

If i remember correctly the fronts will fit but the rears need some modificatio, i will have to do some searching for old threads on that. You might be able to PM YBNormyl he might have a better answer.

The modifications needed were to make the second gen back seat smaller so it would fit in a first gen. But since you're going the other way around, just make sure they bolt up and you should be alright.

Thumbs up Too small?

So, if I'm getting this correct; the Gen1 (my LHS) seat I want to put in the Gen2 (Intrepid) is smaller so it will fit if the bolt patterns match, which should be the case if Gen2's can fit a Gen1. My follow-up question is then, being my seat is smaller, will it be too small for the space and look goofy (too narrow or too short) or is the size difference small and will not be to visible? Thanks for the info.

Gen1 seats in Gen2

Just an update; I swapped the seats from my Gen1 LHS into my Intrepid - much nicer seats than the cheapo black leather buckets. Pretty simple swap for the most part. The main points were

1. Swap the wire frame from the back seat bottom cushions.
2. On the Gen1 rear seats they have metal hooks that are used to hang the seat. I cut these off.
3. Bend the metal tabs (that are used to hang the seat back in the Gen2 car) out a bit to give a little more room to fit the G1 metal frame behind them.
4. Use the G1 back seat's top frame to hang in the G2's hanger tabs. Put the back seat top cushion in the hooks. The seat frame shape is a bit different but it fit in with not much pressure and can't tell the difference.
5. The brackets on the bottom of the top cusion are not long enough to fit over the bolt used to hold the seat tight (also used for the seat belt anchor) so I made some small rectangular metal brackets and drilled a hole for the seatback stud (could also use large washers instead). The seat belt anchors will sandwich the seatback brackets between the metal floor and hold it tight.
6. Put the back seat bottom cushion in - no problem.
7. The front seats were a breeze; fit right in. Had to use the harness out of the gen1 car and splice them into the elect/harness that was below my manual seat (yes, I did have power under the manual cheapo seat - I assume most will if my did). I ran the wire under the carpet to power the passenger seat.

Seats work, feel and look as good as they did in my LHS. Now only if I could find a good center console for my car as it has a shifter on the wheel. I did cut up my center console from my LHS and dummy in a front face plate where the shifter piece attaches to it but I would like something a bit more OE looking.

i was going to say that yes the 1g lhs seats will fit in a 2g. Justin did the opposite with his car, put tan 300M (i think) seats in his 1g and they worked fine.

In all honesty, since i do have 2g leather....the 1g LHS seats feel amazing compared to the 2g leather. i have no complaints with mine though, they are comfy as hell. Those 1g LHS seats, you just sink into them and they are so comfortable, but they arent as sporty looking as the 2g leather, which is what i like better
