Sad 2nd gen Clear corner attempt...help!

:( since this is my 2nd post, let me start off by thanking everyone on this site for providing us 'noobs' w/ your knowledge! Special thanks to hypnos for providing the polarities for the Infinity system as I successfully installed some after-market speakers which sound GREAT!

Ok enough of that----getting to the point:
I tried using Slewis's walkthrough at https://www.dodgeintrepid.net/forums/...tory+headlamps

I drilled EXACTLY where it was circled in red but now I'm left w/ a plastic shavnings mess and a few scratches on the housing :( That plastic amber seems to not break or come off no matter what. How can I break that amber-colored plastic??? The drilling's not working and I can't seem to get any needlenose pliers to turn enough to grab it...I'll see if I can upload a pic of this mess soon. I also wanna avoid taking the whole headlamp apart. Slewis or anyone else if you're out there - HELP!

PS - sorry for such a long post guys

Use an air blower to clean the debris?

thanks avenger, that's my next step - I already tried w/ one of those compressed air cans but didn't work well. I'm gonna go to my job tomm. and use what you're talkin about - the actual machine.
I also tried w/ a vacuum but only managed to get whatever was loose. It sucks cuz now I'm iffy about puttin my 9005/9006 bulbs as there's alot of debri in the lamp. Anyone else have any sugg. on gettin the amber corner out?

I'm wondering if anyone could recommend a specific aftermarket headlight that is easy to remove the amber in. When my car was about a year old, the headlight was damaged and replaced with an aftermarket one. This light has held up great whereas the stock one is really beat. I was able to easily remove the amber from the aftermarket light, but not the stock one so I really need to by a new one now. I would like to find a light similar to the one I have that only has the corner piece glued in three spots. Any ideas??

Use a thin punch or an awl as suggested. A CAREFUL sharp rap with a small hammer should shatter it. Take the entire light assembley off the car (two long screws), take the bulbs out and shake/tumble the assembly until all the debris falls out the bulb holes.

Cheers

BJ

um when i drilled the holes i took off the whole headlight, and drilled from the back to front. i only dirilled 1 hole, and that was in the corner like right in the midle. then used the awl,and i used my had lightly hitting the awl, and to breake the lense loose from the light. then used some needle nose and slowly started to break the lense apart and then
i let it fall out of the turn signal bulb hole.

I did it to mine. i got some angled files from Murray's Auto parts and once I pried off the 1st piece with a flathead screwdriver I used the file to get up under the amber piece and then used the needle nose pliers to break it up. The little parts from drilling, I was able to knock down and out and the leftover residue used a wire hanger with some tissue and tape for the clean up.
