Question Suicide trunk?

has anyone here done it or thought of doing it? I assume it'd be alot harder than other cars considering the 2 lifters on the sides...

Nothing is impossible, but pretty damn hard! I see someone able to do it though.

This would be an incredulous waste of money. There are so many more things you could spend the money it would take to fabricate this.. not to mention how unfunctional it would be. Sorry, I had to say it.

evildead i agree that would probably be unfunctional, if u had a nice system setup in the trunk I dont think it would be bad to have a suicide trunk if u could do it for a few bucks. My 240sx had a suicide trunk and i spent no more than $5 USD and bout 15 min.

lolz..yup, a couple tiny door-hinges and 8 tiny screws did the trick---I was even able to easily switch between normal trunk n suicide trunk

Tricked out On the Doityourself network, did it, cost was under $10 for the two hinges and the slide locks, It is really simple to do, but I aggree it is not very functional. Pimp my Ride also did it on one of their shows.

I don't know if I'd give that a label of "suicide". When I think suicide, I think complete opposite. When you do that to a trunk, all you do is alter how it sits, after you've opened it normally.

true...i've always thought that too cuz technically a suicide trunk would open outwards towards u. Rather than 'suicide trunk' i really dont think it has a name...

A "suicide trunk" open towards you with the hinges where the trunk meets the bumper.

A "flip-flop trunk" opens normal and then uses an additional hinge to flip the hood flat.

Gasetowardthesky, is correct on the naming. To me a suicide trunk is one that kills you when you open it. What we need is a split trunk that opens down the middle, that way you can put tall suff in it and it would look lile a 61 Fury.(big wings).
