flowmaster vs v-force

i went down to the shop to get dual ran. The dude down there told me that a flowmaster 80 would sound like shit on a v6. then began to tell me that a v-force would be so much better. I had v-force on my s10 blazer but it was a v8 and it doesnt take but a walmart muffler to make a v8 sound good. Is he rite or is he a stupid dumb ass and I should still go with the 80?

I have a 80 (part number 42583) on mine and it sounds great. The kind of chrome tips do make them sound different. The bigger 3" wide ones get too loud for me. I have dual chrome 2" ones from Pacesetter Monza type. I guess it comes down to cost. I paid $103.00 for my Flowmaster.

I paid somewhere around $98 for my flowmaster series 50. Doesn't Warlord have a V-force muffler?

I love my flowmaster 80 also... When I first got her on I thought "oh shit, what have I done?", sounded good but seemed LOUD after driving stock for so long. (probley didn't help that I floored it out of the parking lot and into a tunnel ) You get used to it and I hardly notice untill I put the pedal down.

I used to have a 5.0L Firebird, and while I know the trep will never sound like it, the Flowmaster 80 has the same kind of rumble, especially at idle.

BTW I put on 3" tips.

I have a Flowmaster series 80 and love the sound, not sure what a V-force muffler sounds like.

I have Flowmaster 80.........bought for $73US at a Detroit area store. It's not THAT loud (until I removed the spare tire cover), but it DOES sound somewhat like a V8. A lot of my friends commented on it........someone told me it sounds like a Viper (but I don't think they've ever heard a Viper before) ;)

You mentioned that in another thread Rob. Does removing the spare tire make that much difference for the sound level?

Yup. And before that I had a Flowmaster Original 40 series.

From what I hear of people who have the 80 series is that they love it. I haven't heard the 80 series so I can't compare.

But, I used to have a Flowmaster Original 40 series. I now have a V-Force. The noise outside is about the same (Flowmaster maybe a tad louder). But the Flowmaster is much louder inside. I'm not saying the V-Force is quiet, it isn't. The V-Force has a little deeper tone to it than the Flowmaster.

Overall, I like the V-Force muffler. I like being different and not too many have a V-Force muffler. But the sound is also great. I have gotton more compliments with the V-Force muffler than I did with the Flowmaster.

Mine is a Dynomax Super Turbo Muffler(single in, dual out) with the rear resonator removed, 2.5" TruBendz Stainless steel elbows going to 2 Magnaflow 4" double walled stainless steel rolled edged tips and man does it sound awesome. Best mod I've done yet. PM me if you want to hear it . Check out my CarDomain page(link in my sig) for pics.

I have a Flowmaster 80 on my 3.2 (Single In/Dual Out) w/ Magnaflow Stainless Steel Tips and I love it. It did take awhile to get used to and it is pretty loud inside the cab, but only when you accelerate. If you let off the pedal or use cruise control, it won't be nearly as loud. It's definately a nice addition. Like night and day going from stock to a Flowmaster in my experience.

I have a sound clip if you want to hear it. Just PM me with your email address.

Awesome dude!! Do you have a sound clip? I would love to hear that setup! I was thinking about removing the last resonator, but wasn't sure how loud it would be in the cab.
