Spare Tire question ?

Hello. I was considering a new set of rims and tires in the spring, keeping my stock ones for winter and eventually getting some decent winter tires. Whatever I do, i am considering getting a matching spare tire, i just think that would look obnoxious in the trunk! The wheels I am thinking of are 18 chrome wheels with probably 235/40R18 Tires. Do you think I could fit this size tire in the spare tire compartment? Also, if something were to happen, is there any way to use a stock spare even if its a 225 instead of a 235 or bigger like i want? Any help would be great, i don't know a lot about tires or wheels, but this looks like it might work. THANKS!

im pretty sure the tire would fit it the compartment. about using the regular spare tire with teh 18's, you might have a slight difference since the spare tire i believe will be a tiny bit bigger that the 18's with 40's on them however i am not 100% sure so anyone please feel free to correct me if i am wrong. Hope that helps.

as long as the overall tire diameter is the same you will have no issues at all

for instance the OEM 225/60/16 is 26.6in diameter, the 235/40/18 is 25.4 in diameter and therefore will fit fine in the spare tire well

myself I just left the OEM spare tire in there because I couldn't see spending extra money on a rim + tire that is just hidden by the spare tire cover anyway

Joe's always awesome help

Hey,

Thanks Joe I appreciate the help as always. I just think that if i had extra cash it would be cool to have a matching spare. I could use my original though, you are right.
