Question Full Bra Installation, Help please

Hi,

I got full bra (the one with intrepid word on it) for my '99ES from ebay. It doesn't come with installation instruction. I can install the top part just fine but I have problem install both side of the bottom part. There seems to be somekind of snap-on buttons, 3 on each side that I couldn't figure out where they will connect to. Please, someone that has this full bra tell me how to install it.

Thank you very much,
-ToNg

My Mopar bra only has 2 snaps on each side, but 3 would be nice. They go on the inside of the wheelwell where the plastic splash insert attaches to the front quarter panel.

You have to pop out the rivets and attach the male side of the snap to the qtr panel, which you can usually find at an upholstery shop or some place that sells RV stuff...they usually can find the right size for you.

I can't see the image you posted (web-nanny probably blocked it, doesn't like geocities)

I have the 3 snapper Mopar lower unit too. It was ordered new with the car, but it's never been installed, just the upper was used. It came with a hardware pack 6snaps w/screws, 6j-clips and no instructions. I was under the impression that I needed to cut slits in the plastic splash guard, insert the j-clip then screw the snap through the plastic and into the j-clip. I'd rather not pop out those mounting rivets if I don't have to. Do ya think it'll be ok my way ? I'd like to do it this weekend.

Also, I was told to snug everything up and do the two center snaps first, then make sure the outer snaps are stretched far apart to prevent wrinkling. (maybe why they went to 3 snaps).

Thank you for the replys.

I still have no idea what these parts look like. And where are those places that sell it in my area.

CDN R/T, could you post a picture of that hardware you got with the bra? Thanks

Got the snap kit from sears and now i can connect that snap buttons fine. One question though, there's a plasctic hook on the top center of the bottom bra, where should it hook to? I dont see anywhere it could be hooked with.

Hmm..can't help ya there... There must have been a couple different designs from Mopar. Mine only has the two-snap setup on the ends, and bottom section only has two hooks that attach under the hood...no center one, if that makes sense.

Well I tried it on for fit this weekend... the three snaps line up directly over the three plastic rivets where the fascia mounts to the wheel well inner. This is the only place they can go, not enough give to put them elsewhere.
From what I could see, once I drill out the rivet, slide the j-clip onto the wheel well inner (not the fascia), screw through the snap / washer / fascia / inner well and j-clip (in that order or else I'll lose the attachement point of the wheel well inner.)
I haven't done mine yet, didn't have time and was reluctant to drill out those rivets without fully understanding how the clips were to go in (I figured it out later).

ToNg: as you pictured, those are the (male) snaps but your screws will be too short (same diameter but about 5/8" long). I don't have the j-clips or washers with me but I'll try to throw up a pic tomorrow.

Edit: As for the hooks... I have 4 (elastic) across the bottom, 2 (elastic) and 4 rigid across the top. The extra bottom hooks may be to help with the fog light cut-outs (I also have a licence plate cut-out). The best place I found for the bottom hooks was to sling'em under the air-dam and hook them on the fascia itself. Spreading them out can help adjust wrinkles.
