I got my kit from HIDynamics.........no projector kit. I'll be showing it off at Gearfest in a couple weeks for whoever's interested.

It has a seperate ballast/ignitor..........HOWEVER, I've been very satisfied with the kit thus far and have little if anything to complain about besides the fact that when I first hooked it up......it was backwards (Intrepid's are wired backwards) and I blew a fuse.

That's cool..........I just looked on that website and they sell 50 Watt HID's now! I still like my 8000k's though and I don't think I'd want to give them up for more powerful 6000k's.

they also have the 35watt kit, and anything over 6k temeperature color reduces your light output. but the mazda 3's use an h7 style bulb

heres the pix scott:

and heres the actual projectors in the 3:

not terrible but there is alot of glare aboive the cut off, probably because the sheilds in the halogen projectors have cutouts in them.

Here is someones Mazda 3 at HIDPLANET:

See the 2 halo's above the cutoff line, those are there for halogen bulbs to let more light through, if there was some way to block those holes (say with metal duct tape) then I would say that the projectors take well to the kit. The Halos are what make people infront of you go blind from glare.

My cutoff:

notice that there is almost no stray light above the cutoff line, thats what HID is supposed to look like

so dont mazda 3's have DRL's? How are you going to deal with that, cause running your HID at less then 100% is very detrimental to the ballasts and bulbs.

I have the hid sytem from hidynamics its the 8000k kind of purple looking....

I like the look of the signs and dots on the road.....its very easy on the eyes.....

I know others with the 6000k....but they are not for me......

look at other cars before you decide.....

One word of caution.....use tie strips to install the hidynamics setup....the tape provided for the ballasts will fail and come unglued.......saw something hanging down......had to take the lights back out and reattach............took a whole 5 mins....

great mod to do what ever color selection you make

only candidian mazda 3's have DRL's. but theres also a way to bypass that and you get that free if you order from xtec. but yea theres going to be some glare remember the car was only a 17k car, theres been people who have retro'd their projectors with TSX ones though.
