exhaust...again

Yeah I know...another exhaust thread...but I have some questions.

I currently am running a Trubendz exhaust system, and overall I am happy, but the rear mufflers have started to rust in some places, and I will not have that on my car, LOL. I currently have a flomaster mid with 2 magnaflow rears, no resonators. The one complaint I have about my exhaust is a rattle, and it has been present on all three exhaust setups that I have had...that dates back to the SE days. The rattle occurs at lower RPM's, and seems to dissappear once the car warms up. Has anybody ran into this before? I went to another shop to have the system checked, but they said everything looked fine.

I am now looking to add a resonator back to the front of the car, and go to two flowmaster tips. But, before I do anything I want to try to find out what the rattle is because I would like to eliminate it.

Anybody have any ideas?
thanks in advance!

What is the deal with having your spare tire cover out? What does that do for you?

I also have a rattle mostly when the car is cold or at certain rpm's under load.
At first I thought maybe it was a pipe hitting something but everything is pretty well isolated. My second thought would possibly be a loose heat sheild somewhere.

Do you still have your stock airbox & resonator? Some people have had a problem with it rattling against the inner fender.

For the muffler(s) - get stainless ...

I thought that the mufflers were stainless, but clearly they are not. As for the air box...no I am running the K&N FIPK setup. The sound definately seems to be coming from the back end of the car. I figured the pipes were rattling on something, but I don't know for sure. It definately does have a metal on metal sound.

When I got my custom duals installed, they routed them too close to the sway bar. Didn't rattle as much as it rubbed, could be something to check.

I'm not running stainless. I don't have a spare cover because it looks better without one ;)

Are you saying that you removed to whole spare tire well, or the cover from the inside of the trunk?
