New Mod

Here's a new mod I did today!

WTF!!!??? Has this happened to any of you!!??
Now I have to get a new tire!
Luckily, I have a full size spare with a brand new stock Goodyear Eagle LS. But that's just what it is, a spare, not permanent.

I have herd of a screw or a bolt but not vice grips. I usually use those to remove the object.

Ha... that reminds me of the weirdest thing I found in a semi tire..... A nice sized piece of antler! That moose got some revenge at least (about $400 worth, the tire was shot)

BTW look on the bright side... your the proud owner of a nice new pair of Vise-grips!!

You don't neccasarily have to get a new tire. If the belt isn't damaged, it can be plugged from the inside by anyplace that sels tires. I have had tires plugged in the past on cars and never had a problem. Of course if you have a tire warranty, you could get it replaced at a pro-rated cost.

Just from the looks of it there is no way you could plug or even patch that. Also if someone was crazy enough to throw a huge patch in there the tire would loose it's speed rating (unsafe at high speeds)

As cobra said, if you have road hazard you can get a replacement and pay only for the tread you wore off. (plus the change over/ balance) I don't even think you need a recipt. just go to an authorized dealer of that brand.

That is one mod I think I will not put on my list. Since It would mean four tires instead of one.

Next time use a tool box to store your tools. While that is handy and takes up no room in the trunk, the tools will wear out much quicker that way. On the plus side your tire wear should be reduced. LOL

LOL!! I was driving through an underpass and changed lanes around 30mph and all of a sudden clunk clunk ckunk and the dreaded sssssssssss. luckily there was a parking lot right there so I could change the tire. Tire is shot. I took it an NTB my buddy works at and it can't be saved. No road hazard. Looks like I'm ordering a new tire tonight! F'n tools!
