Will a 2001 300M 3.5L engine.....

Fit a 2000 dodge Intrepid ES (Had a 3.2L before) without swapping anything out, like a 2004 motor?, Can I stay with the new motors harness if its not butchered to hell?, as so as the flexplate, cam sensor, drivers side cam sprocket, egr system, etc...?, The 2004 motor just fell off, and it was a rental engine, so I passed on it, so I ran into another one, but wanted to do a vin check on it, 2c3he66g81h541312

Thanks guys, ;)

a 2001 engine should go in even easier than a 2004 one would. i would know i just completed the swap. the only thing u'll have to swap from your 3.2 to the 3.5 is the exhaust manifolds.

where the exhaust manifolds meet the cat convertors, they are bent slightly different than the 3.2, but the 3.2 manifolds will bolt up to the 3.5 with no problem.

I arc welded my old ones, since they both a hairline cracks on htem , 1 on each manifold, do you think they should be fine after welded, and coated with Black 1200* Engine High heat manifold paint?, or should I get new ones?, I welded them inside and out, SOLID!!!, just need new Exaust gaskets!

Just make sure the engine isn't 2002+ or you'd have to swap wiring harnesses as well.

I though the 3.5/3.2 manifold were the identical part #. It is the 2.7 that bends differently

Should be a direct drop-in plug and play!

i thought the manifolds were the same too but i found out the hard way when my cats wouldn't line up with the manifolds. The difference between the manifolds is very very small, but enough that they won't seal right and will cause an exhaust leak. The manifold on the 3.5HO from the intrepid rt's might be the same as the intrepid 3.2 but the 300m 3.5HO is what i put in my car, and the manifolds didn't match

the 3.2 and 3.5 all had external oil coolers built into the radiator, it was the 2.7 that didn't have it.

not sure on that one, i was looking for 300m engines when i was searching for mine and i was never asked about an oil cooler. The oil cooler is part of the radiator that they put in the 3.2 and 3.5 cars. The engine has two cooler lines coming off it that connects to the radiator.
