Need suggestions where to get dimension data

I need to build an adapter plate for the 42le trans. This means very accurate measurements of the bellhousing mounting holes, locating pins and input shaft. I can measure everything, of course. I could also work from engineering data. Having engineering data I believe to be the preferable choice. I do recognize that the engines that mate to the trans have the same dimensions. Problem is getting this data. I would appreciate any input as to where to go looking. There isn't the flood of aftermarket businesses out there that many other cars have. Any names, sources, books that may have this info? Is there a department at Chrysler that may be willing to help out? Anyplace else I could bo looking? And yes, I have poked around the internet, but apparently I'm too lame to come up with the right search!
