eBay CAI Opinion

I've seen people ask about some CAI's but I haven't seen this one yet.

How does this one look? I'm looking to get one for Christmas

looks almost like the spectre civic intake with a cone filter. Down here it cost about 55 to buy that "kit"

I've seen that intake on ebay a number of times. I was very interested in it too, but it seems to be cheap looking. I'd tried to post a message, to see if anyone on these boards actually purchased it and could comment on its quality, but no luck. It looks like an 'okay' product, but i wish we could talk to someone first who already bought one.

Myself I tend to stay clear of anyone who uses grammar like this to sell a product

In order we can send you the fitting intake for your car. All these information must be received along with your payment or as soon as the auction ended.

I just ordered the K&N Kit off of ebay this weekend, 175$ + 25 Shipping, 200 bucks and its on its way. There is no chrome under our hoods really so i wanted to stick with the black plastic theme, keeps it looking clean IMO

It doesn't look like it directly connects to the throttle body... does it?

I want to add a K&N to mine as well. Since I got a new chip and all. Has anyone used AMSOIL (100% synthetic oil) before? I heard some guy saying that it is the best synthetic he has ever tried. The catch is he may be an actual distributor or something and isn't telling me that part. ;) LOL! I figure that a cold air Intake, boost chip and superior oil with a Berryman B12 Chemtool Total Fuel System cleaner treatment (lasts me up to 3000 miles), I will be able to get some noticeable gains right off the bat and without doing too much right away. THe only thing cooler would be cryogenic brake rotors/ cryogeninc dipping of major parts. Talk about alot of money though :S

I've been using either Amsoil or Royal Purple only for the last 30,000 miles. Those are the best synthetics out there.

I also have this intake. I really love the sound of it. I need to fab a heat shield for it. I suggest going for the K&N FIPK though. It is worth the money.

hijack

You might want to read through this study: http://neptune.spacebears.com/cars/s.../oil-life.html

They found the Amsoil tended to thicken (change viscosity rating) over time ...

I'll stick with the JoeKD style version myself. Even though I wish it had a nice plastic heat shield like the KN one.
