Cigarette lighter outlet remains on!

Hello everyone!
I just got myself the Garmin GPS system and got it hooked through my cigarette lighter adapter. Trouble is, the cigarette lighter remains on all the time even without ignition! I just want the power outlets to be on only upon ignition and not without. I visited the allpar website and gathered the following information:
"As shipped from the assembly plant, the outlet (cigarette lighter style) has power only when the ignition is on. By moving a fuse in the instrument panel fuse block, the outlet can have power at all times."
Problem is, I can figure out which fuse to fiddle with. Could someone help me?
Thanks in advance

Look at the backside of the panel you remove to see the fuses for a diagram.

If you look at the fuse panel, you should see that the fuse for the lighter is "movable" between slots. If you relocate it to the alternative position, it will be ignition controlled. That's how it is on mine, anyway.

Mine doesn't work at all. Maybe our cars should mate.

Yeah, it's 16. Should be the top right. Also, check the back panel of the fuse cover. It usually will have a diagram on it.

I just put the fuses in the corrected position. Exactly at the location where you said, although the position is #6. Works like it was intended to. Gee things so easy could have meant shelling some 50 bucks if I depended on our friendly neighbourhood dealership. Love the forum

STANDARD PROCEDURE - CIGAR LIGHTER/
POWER OUTLET CUSTOMER PREFERENCE
This vehicle was delivered with the Cigar Lighter/Power Outlet activated only when the ignition is ON.
To convert the lighter/outlet to operate with the ignition OFF, perform the following:
Remove the left instrument panel end cap from the left end of the instrument panel.
Remove fuse #6 in the upper right of the junction block from its “IGN” position
Move the fuse slightly right and insert it in the fuse #6 “BAT” location in the junction block.
Reinstall the left instrument panel end cap.
