got into a minor accident

Hi guys,
I never thought this day would come, but it's here. Damaged the front bumper, reinforcement and the front absorber. I have a 01 SE (the one without the fog lights). Told the dealership to get the bumper that has the fog-light housing (basically 04 SE bumper). Was it a good judgement? Either costs just the same, so I thought why not. Now the important question is, how much would it cost to install a fog light on this second gen intrepid when I have some money to install it later? Is it something that I could do by myself?
Oh, and BTW they inspected it, and the dealership says no mechanical damage.
Pls advise

Good call on getting the ES cover while you had the chance. I would save up some cash for a nice pair of driving lights that sit just right in the ES cover. Maybe PIAA or Hella has something that will sit in the stock location. I did this upgrade on my 1st gen and used a pair of '01 Dakota fog lights and they sat in there perfectly. You might be able to find the lights in a salvage yard too if you wanna go stock, or mod the stock ones to projectors.

I don't believe any of the SEs have foglights......you may have an ES bumper. Regardless they are all the same as long as the color matches! As far as installing them, it really shouldn't be too difficult...obviously you will need the headlight switch, but that can be bought at a junkyard. There are many how-tos here to help you, and it's something that can be taken care off with a good Saturday afternoon .

He's saying that he has an SE car, ordered a ES bumper cover to replace the damaged SE one, and wants help with the lighting.

old line but a lot of 04 SE, at least in Canada came with the fogs, as did the 97s.

a end of model line clear out.

I have one of the 04 SE, and the dealer had 4 others that all had the fog lights, most we see up here, have them....

Sorry, I forgot to mention I am from Canada as well, and the 04 SE's that came with the fog-lights is what I was mentioning. The dealership is getting those parts, no problem. But the issue was with the next step i.e. installing the fog lights. How difficult/expensive is it going to be, and do we have any step by step how-to anywhere? Any specific concern?
BTW my insurance was paying for the aftermarket bumper only, not the the OEM. I have volunteered to pay for the difference for the OEM which is about a 100 bucks. The reason being, I like the way my OEM bumper was so good at taking the once in a while bumps. Thanks for your help.

Got to know from Dodge dealership that the wiring harness itself would be about $800-900!!! Plus the lamps $160 a piece plus switch plus the labour???
Seems ridiculously expensive to me. Any suggestions pls? How do I check if my wiring harness actually has the provision for fog lamps?
Any one living in the toronto/scarborough/GTA area who can help me to get it installed?

There's a "how to" on adding the factory fog lamp wiring from moparpartsguy (pg 3 of 2nd gen how to's)that I used when I changed the front end out and added fogs on mine.

I am going to go with Code2medic here and state that since you are north of the border that you best resource for parts and information about this matter would be Torontofirecaptain. He just may have the parts you need already and if he doesn't have them he can usually get them pretty quick. His prices are always much much much better than the dealer prices.

Thanks Guys,
I have been in contact with TorontoFireCaptain. He has been very helpful, I am hoping to get the fog-lights installed from him. Got another question.

Since they are repainting my hood, I thought, I could get one of those clear laminate looking hood mask on the front quarter of the hood. Do you know who could install it in the Scarborough/TOronto/GTA area? As usual, my dealership says 300+ which I believe to be over the roof.

I don't know if the hood deflector is any better to hood mask, particular concern being they probably would drill a few holes to get a deflector.

I definitely detest those bras. Somehow car bras make it look like Homer Simpson to me Any suggestion would be helpful.

Thanks!
