Question What type of paint...

My wife was wanting me to do a little something under the hood of her car. Sort of a theme type thing...painting lids and misc pieces here and there such as the stock air box. I assume I would need a high temp tolerant paint since it will be under the hood. What would you recommend as far as brand? Does a clear coat have to be high temp also? TIA

In most cases, a high temp paint isnt even necessary. Most caps and lids arent in places that will get that hot (they are made of plastic after all). Just treat them like any other plastic you would paint. Beef up the cleaning and prep process since a lot of grease and grime floats around under your hood.

Thanks Gaze. The whole 10% rule was not in effect this morning. Plastic + heat = melt. (-;
