Bored TB

First off does anyone here know of a place/person to have a TB bored out.

Second, I've heard of people going 68 and 70mm. Any reccomendations?

Third where would I find the larger TB plate. I remember reading that people used a Holley plate but I thought I also read that it was disscontinued.

There is a place right by me that is doing my "new" TB.
They ported my LIM as well. It looks great.
For the plate, you will need to get Holley p/n: 26-130 (70mm TB plate)
I was able to get one a couple of weeks ago, even though they are out of production. Expect to pay ~ $20 for it. You can try Summit Racing, or Jegs.

I would expect to pay ~ $100 for the port job on the TB. The factory plate is 68mm. You CAN go up to 72mm, however, you will need to fabricate the throttle plate. You can use the original as a template. That will drive the cost up, but you will have a one off piece.

68mm is the most you can go without the new TB plate, 70mm is with the holley plate

Alright so go 70mm with the holley plate.

That brings me to another question Tom, I'm guessing that you have an extra TB being bored out, so you wanna sell me your current one when you're done with it so I can do the same?

I've decided that I'm going to bite the bullet and do this at the same time as the intake spacer. We were talking about cleaning the tb anyways, so bolting on a new one will barely take any more time.

I have one better...
I will be selling my original 70mm TB once my new one is done.
It isn't the prettiest one on the block..but it has propelled the car to its current 15.01 et. I need to wait until I get my stuff back from the machine shop. If you want it, it is yours.

Lemme know.

One other thing....if you are going this route, get either a Nitrile Rubber, or a Silicone 90* elbow to replace the restrictive factory elbow. You won't go wrong with this...

To be honest I tested a nitrile 90 degree bend, a factory bend ported out and a non-ported factory TB connector with my intake setups and got the same exact track times with both OEM TB and ported

I also had a past customer dyno his car with the ported bend and the OEM unported and it came back exactly the same

Bottom line, all the nitrile proved to do is make the install a pain in the butt, no power gains shown

I do have Joe's intake with the boed out TB bend already.

Tom that sound sweet, I am all over that deal. One thing, what do you mean by not the prettiest on the block? (I have a feeling that I really won't care, just curious).

I guess I should ask how much you want for it.

That maybe true, but it didn't hurt anything.
It also depends on other factors...
Was the exhaust system opened up?
The factory looks as if it is restricted compared to an open elbow.

Just my $.02 worth...your mileage may vary!!

It looks good to me, and ~100 sounds good too. I figure we don't need to waste money on shipping, we'll just put it on when we do the spacer install.

He used the breather filter so that he wouldn't have to connect the PCV line to the intake pipe

The plenum get enough oil in it.....don't need anymore!!
