Sad Its always something...

Well, now that the weather seems to be getting back to normal, I decided it was time to put the new headlights on. I started with the passenger side...took the old off, swapped bulbs and inserted it. Outter screw went in fine, but the inner screw didn't wan't to work out right for me. I backed out the other screw for some play...no go. It started to strip the threads. I tried the other screw, same issue. Then I noticed something else. My Silverstars. Instead of being a straight out connection, they curve down at a 90 deg. angle...thats not going to work on the driver side as you can tell from the pics in the other thread. So I get to looking at the driver side headlight. The little window to look at the level...I can barely see it because it is pushed so far forward. I am not pissed really, but more like *sigh*...it is just my luck. I just contacted the seller via email, but would like to call them...**dodgaholic...got a number?** The only bad thing is now I have to box them up, pay for shipping back to them...and if I have to pay for shipping back to me I am going to nix this all together and just get stock housings. $204 total to buy and ship to me...$??? who knows to ship back to them...I coulda bought the ones with the 8000k HID kit by the time this is all said and done. Just thought I would vent and hope I can find a phone number.

Yeah I was looking forward to it as well. But it seems I have a "your not allowed to mod your car" curse. It seems like no matter what I want to try and do to the car...something back fires in my face. Sort of like the time I played with fiberglass resin while smoking...that was dumb on my part 1st of all, but the part I was glassing looked like a retard made it in arts and crafts hour.

I sent you a PM. Sorry to hear you are having a problem. Luck of the draw, I guess. Mine were fine.

Well, I got in touch with SaBERSPORT about the lights. The guy is really cool to deal with. I don't even have to pay for shipping back to them as they will email me a return label from UPS. The bad thing is...they are out of stock on the clear corner ones. So he is going to refund my money and I will have to wait until I find another set for roughly the same price. Or I might just get OEM replacements. I don't know. Kinda frustrating, but what can you do. It is not SABERSPORTS fault the lights were messed up, nor was it UPS as the box was perfect. So, my search continues. Do not let this steer anybody away from that seller. They were excellent with shipping, packaging and customer service. I would buy from them again. Real smooth transaction.

I actually just got my lights in today from them and got them installed tonight no problem. Sucks that you had a bad time with yours. If you would be interested in a nice pair of used lights, I am selling the set of headlights that came off my car, they are in really good shape - take a look in the B/S/T forum for a thread by me.. should be near the top, I understand if you want something new as well.

Yeah I want some new ones. Don't get me wrong your look a thousand times better than mine do right now. But yeah...kinda upsetting that they were defective. But they are refunding the cash and I will eventually get a pair. Plus I have to finish painting another set I have, and the ones that are on the car right now I am going to do the sanding thing. I should be good on lights for awhile. Thanks for the offer BTW.

Ummmm......if it's your Silverstars, have you tried using different bulbs? (The one's that stick out straight, I forgot if they're 9006 or 9007s) You can try a pair of cheapos and see if that works.....don't give up on the mod yet!

Uh...it's not a matter of the silverstars fitting...it is the fact that the housing itself is offcenter. The headlight is defective. Plus I have $70+ invested in Silverstar lightbulbs and I want to use those.

**EDIT**
See what I mean...

Actually that is normal. That is why the housing has a big flexible rubber boot like that.
The while inner reflector and th part you see there that the bulb screws into move separately from the outer housing. If you mess with the adjusting screws you should be able to center that better.
And be sure you use the proper bulbs. As you already know the bulb connector has to be straight out.

no its not normal. The entire housing is jacked. Bad assembly.
Here is the Pass. side...

here is the driverside...

trust me...I toyed with them because I wanted them to work. Even rigging the grommet around the white housing part. No good. It is bad.

I'd say the inner reflector frame has come loose from the adjusting screw setup and /or the pivot point. The adjusters have a ball on the end of them that fit into a mating socket on the reflector assy. If you can remove the adjusters from the housing without force then the ball has come out of the socket. You also might have a damaged socket(plastic)that won't grip the ball end of the adjuster. I'd try taking out the adjusters and taking a look at the socket that's inside the housing. I had a set where this was a problem and sold them to a member that was able to fix them.
