2 easy mods made to 03 trep

Hey guys got a couple of mods I made to my 03 SXT. I'll Post some pictures when I get my internet at home fixed.
1. Put a glove box light in. That opening that is round on bottom and flat on top is where the glove box light goes. My car did not come equipped with one but i found a glove box light out of an old k car that i used to have and it fit perfect. all I had to do was run one wire to ground and the other to a constant hot on the cars lighting circuit. I had to put a rubber o-ring between the light housing and the glove box and one of those little rubber bump stops on the glove box door to keep the light from flickering on and off. but it was a very simple install. A friend of mine at the dodge place said that the glove box light assembly has changed very little for dodge/chrysler since the late 70's
2. Put a power outlet on the back of the center console. This one was a little more involved because you have to remove the center console and measure and drill for the hole. I got one of those power plug kits from the local auto parts store then removed my center console I measured mine to install between the rear vents and the knob that regulates the air flow on the back of the console. There is just enough room if you measure carefully but you can install it lower down too. Drill a pilot hole at the exact center of where you want the outlet thenuse the correct size hole saw to make the mounting hole. Next run two wires I used 10 gauge along the bottom of the console mounting brackets up to the front where the stock power outlet is make sure that you run the wire away from any potential pinch point around the shifter then remove the stock power outlet from the front of the console. I cut the wires leading to the stock unit about 3 inches down, stripped both ends of the cut wires and the ends of wires I ran from the second unit and soldered everything back together, then wrapped all connections real well in electrical tape. Connect everythin and test polarity of the new outlet before you reassemble the console. if everything work reassemble the console making sure you check for pinch points as you go. I didn't even have to change the amperage of the fuse for the outlet and I can run a cell phone charger in the front and a DVD player in the back. One thing that i forgot to mention before you start drilling on that vent piece remove the vent and control assembly.
