Anyone Upgrade trans?

Is there any member who upgraded the trans with those kelvar cluthes and limted slip? Did it improve the efficiency of the trans. When i did my motor swap (2.7-3.5) there seem to be a small improvement like a gain of maybe 20 extra horespower. I'am Running 300m special specs with a couple of mods!

A company by the name of PowerDemon used to do performance rebuilds of these transmissions. Not sure if they still do. Don had one in his dragged 300M.
Here's a thread with a little info:

You don't get "dusted by mustangs" because of the speed limiter. It's because they're quicker and faster.
The limiter has nothing to do with acceleration, so if they're walking away from you, don't blame the limiter.

Your second sentence makes no sense at all..........

Also, there's no way you're ever going to get any real acceleration out of an 2.7 Intrepid on 20 inch "Dubs". Car's too heavy, rims are too big, engine too small. Stick to "rollin on Dubs" or whatever they call it now. If you want speed, drop back down to 16 or 17 inches rims and start working on some real performance improvements like a 3.5 swap (not just a home depot cold air intake). The car is never going to be really fast though, get a faster car to start with if that's what you really want.

Cheers

BJ

I gave you some rep for your enthusiasm because I think most of us here have at one point or another thought “hey, the Intrepid is unexpectedly fun to drive; I bet I could pit it against a sports car!” Unfortunately While the Intrepid has very nice suspension (for a family sedan) and with the first gen 3.5, and second gen 3.2 and 3.5 HO has a more then enough power to make you feel a little cocky in traffic or at the front of the line at a red light, it’s still a heavy family sedan that is bigger then an 07 Audi S8 and has half the power. So unfortunately it will never be a sleeper Viper killer, but it will always be fun to drive. If you want something that would be a little wiser, put half that money you just got in the bank, and if I were you and had the need for speed I’d go for something like this with the other half.

Yeah.... if I wanted just speed, I would have gotten a LS1 Z28!

But I wanted a comfy ride and a pleasant to look at interior along with a bit of speed and an insurance bill I could afford...... so I got a 3.5 Intrepid.

If I want REAL speed, I'll get something with a V8 and rear wheel drive. A Camaro to be exact.....

Can't agree more. If you saw my thread in the 27" rims post you'd I'm a big 20" + hater. My personal favourite rim is the 5zigen F01NRC (sp?). A 17" x 7" rim is 15.6 lbs, and only about $200. Pair it up with a light 225 / 50 tires and you're looking at just over 40 lbs each corner.

BTW, da thang is called DUBZ, holmes
