K&N Question. 3.2L Engine related.

According to the K&N website when you do a search, by vehicle, for a K&N Cold Air Intake system it says that there is no product available for the 2001 3.2L Engine. It only has either an Air Filter direct replacement and also the Oil Filter as well.

In the DI.net FAQ it says part# 57-1522 is made for both the 3.2 and 3.5. K&N's website says it is only made for the 3.5.

What's the right answer?

i believe the 3.2 and the 3.5 are the same engine just a different bore. so a 3.5 one should work on a 3.2.

Ya the 3.5L intake will bolt right up to the 3.2L.

Why are you buying one? It won't gain you more than 5HP/tq, and even that's unlikely. It will give you a more agressive sound, potentially look cool (if your engine is fairly clean, anyway) and not require filter changes as often.

Now there's a spoil sport! Must be an OEM rep that infiltrated the boards!

I had one on my old 01 2.7 Intrepid and had one on an 89 Camaro I used to own once upon a time. All of the reasons you listed are reasons I want one. Anything I can do to wake up a few extra ponies out of the engine is reason enough.

Hey, I never said not to buy one, just making sure you don't believe some of the outrageous claims out there about CAIs.

For the record, I've got one on my Grand Am, sounds sick.

Such a purchase is kinda down the road anyway. But yeah I know the realities of putting it on my car. I'm not expecting miracles.
