FollowingNFront's Sig

Here is my story. My name is Matt and I am 19 years old and currently in college in upstate New York. This 1998 Intrepid ES used to be my dad's and he got it new for $30,000. I used to be in love with this car when it was his and he LOVED the car and the way it performed better than any car to this day that he has driven! He used to weave in and out of traffic (not recklessly) but easily and sportily and it was great to be in this car with him.

My dad used to unintentionally abuse the car however. He didnt keep up on maintenance as he should've and so this car has suffered. Actually it has been to the point of just sitting on the street in queens almost broke down.

This car has seen its share of a hard life too:

1. My dad was rear-ended on the brooklyn-Queens expressway by a chick in a honda accord going 40 and he was stopped. The accord got totalled and the trep got dented.

2.Also it has been broken into once (nothing was stolen they couldnt get the car started so they just fled, and left their flashlight lol)

3. Also a car was on fire behind it on the street one night and melted the "INTREPID" on the trunk and the taillights as well

4. While driving on Queens BLVD through a green light, we t-boned a DRUNK off duty prick police officer who ran a red light in a private car (my dad was pissed), and that collision ripped half of the front bumper off

None of these things were my dads fault and obviously were taken care of by the insurance company.

This last summer (August) I got the chance to take the car off my dad's hands. It was in such bad shape mechanically and I am going to school for autotech, that my dad said I could keep it and fix it up. So in August I:

-replaced the harmonic balancer
-front pads
-re-flashed pcm
-new belt
-oil change

Lol I loved the car so much that I paid for the ABOVE repairs with a highly (By myself) modified 95 saturn sc2!!!!
STupid to give a car away, but its my trep and I didnt have the money! The saturn had eibachs, kybs, air intake, cloth to leather conversion, short shifter, tinted tails, clear corners, 20% windows, pioneer deck, pioneer 6.5"s, and my system. Also painted red lip around steelies. If I did more, I dont remember at the moment!

Since then I have replaced the radiator myself and need to replace my rotors/pads, and oil pan.........

Here she is:

How she sat infront of my dad's house:

Another shot a couple of days before I took the car (the saturn I "traded" for some of the work is the red one in front of the intrepid):

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!! !!!

NEVER use Armor All. The punishment for its usage is constant flaming until your no more than a little burned piece of ash.

Seriously though, from what I have heard is that it removes a protectant that the factory puts into the plastic and replaces it with its own. If you use a different brand now, the protectant is no longer there, and eventually the plastic will fade. I honestly doubt that it matters on an intake plenum or even if using once would do it. But using it on your dashboard or on other interior parts is a different story. Basically, if your going to use Armor All, that's all you should ever use.

Nice car. That is one big to do list lol Good luck with it all. If you have any problems with any of them I'm sure you will find the help you need on this site. And to note above with megatrep put that armor all down and step away from the can lol.

Lol so I guess now would be a good time to tell you that 2 weeks ago I used a whole bottle of Armorall Wipes on EVERY piece of plastic in my interior, and today I sprayed the tire shine on my intake plenum and a couple other pieces in my engine bay?!?!?!?!

It all depends on how long you've used it for, if you've been using it for years, then just stick with it, but if you've only used it once or twice, you can still switch to something else.

Looking good though, eiher way!
