Very nice!

Mine is the same color, actually. My 2000 Intrepid 2.7 is that color, but "Gunmetal Blue" instead of "Steel Blue." Gotta love the pointless renaming =P

For the (Concorde?) cluster you put in, I know they come with chrome, but did you add your own or stick with what came with it? I'm thinking about doing the same to my car. Now that I've seen it in a car almost identical to mine, I know I love it. (I was skeptical about doing it for fear of it looking like crap).

Also, I noticed your paint job looks brand new. You said you used Meguiar products to do it, but what did you use and what was the process you went through? I want to detail my car, but I don't trust detail centers around here (one stole my Dad's cell phone then called the police on him and tried to have him arrested when he said something about it--nice guys). I also don't trust people like the thieves ("Manuel" with the accent) because, if it's one thing I noticed while living in Hudson County, NJ, they are all the same--lying, cheating, stealing, and trying to get over.

Again, I really like what you've done to your Intrepid. I just want to do the cluster, maybe the chrome (don't know yet), and the detailing.

Keep up the great work with that car!

Thanks!

I've had the cluster both ways.

Here's a pic of my original cluster with some chrome rings epoxyed on:

Just snap the rings off a cluster at the yard. The tach and speedo fit perfectly, but the gas and t-stat do not, they sit up a little higher. If you look real close at the fuel gauge you can see the gap at this angle. From the drivers seat it looks great. I really liked the white gauges with chrome.

I picked up the concorde cluster from the yard and threw it in, and ended up really liking it, so I never took it back out. Those clusters come with the chrome rings. Plus no gap.

As far as a full detail here's what I would recommend:

Wash car
clay bar
Buff complete car with Mequires ultimate compound
One coat Meguires Cleaner wax
One coat Meguires NXT wax

I try to do the Clay bar once a year, if you live in the city where it's grimy I would do it twice a year. The ultimate compound should be used realitively sparingly, but it's not that aggressive so its great for taking out some scratches and swirls and getting the old wax off. I use a orbital buffer to do a quick polish and then put the wax on by hand.

You just gave me the itch to go completely detail the car. It needs to warm up!!!

Thanks for the tips.

Sorry I induced the urge to detail. haha

I do live in the city, and it's one that's about 2.5 miles form New York City. Lots of traffic on my road (people trying to get in to NYC) and the road grime and all that is just terrible.

It does need to warm up. We had a few nice days here and now it's back down into the 20's. We got over 60 inches of snow this winter. =/ I want spring/summer to come soon...I'm sick of this crappy cold weather.

Shoot it's already summer down here... feels like it anyway. Had the AC on on the way home from work.. it was close to 80 (F) outside.

Looking good Nate! I need to nab another set of the chrome cluster rings.... I've got an idea!

Whelp. My $100 razors are off the car for winter... in fact: for good. ES rims are back on until I can source a new set of summer rims. The T/A's on the razors are done, and I'm just not interested in wrapping them in new tires, so off to craigslist they go.

She looks so... normal.

Aiming for crusaders or twin sixes. I don't think I'm prepared for the cost of putting 18s on it.
