My 98 Intrepid 'SES' - 56k Beware!

<center>I finally get to show off here. In case you're wondering about the name, I originally drove a 99 ES that was totaled. Shortly thereafter, I bought a 98 SE with a blown 2.7 (imagine that). The car had 155k on it at the time, and was starting to show its age. The paint was chipping. The interior had a nice layer of dirt on it, and stains from I don't know what. The windshield was cracked along the top. The driver's side mirror was also a lost cause. It was a beautiful lawn ornament. Everything got replaced. I also added the power cloth seats, the 60/40 seats in the back, AutoStick, the OTIS, the entire lot of carpet, chrome gauges, the dash, 16" Alloy Rims (not much, but better than hubs), 3.2l V6 Magnum, and the ATC. It practically IS my old ES!

I've also added an aftermarket stereo setup.

DAYUUUUM bout tim ewe had new pics, and aint it nice he even tok the pics with his OLD trep/wreck in teh background, nice jobe man, very

about those blue lights in the otis and the dash, thats the only color, he used this thing that PHOTOGRAPHERS used, its like a blue sheet that you slip in between the glass and the light, and it ONLY lets the BLUE of the light come through.

if they make an orane, then good luck lol, but the sheets are like pennies so get some:D

Yeah, the blue displays are just a light trick. :p I used DJ lighting 'gels' that they use to make a white light a different color. There's a big selection here. Musician's Friend has great deals on stuff, and they're a blast to deal with.

I did the OTIS and ATC back when it was in my ES. You just disassemble it to the point that the electronic display is out, slide the gel light insert in front of where the display normally sits, and reinstall everything. It WILL work on first gen's, 'cause it's so basic in design. I'll write up a how-to if you guy want me to. When I was taking apart my dash for the first time in my second car, I disassembled almost every part of the gauges I could. I pretty much put a blue peice of gel behind everything but the holes for the needles. I need to take a night shot of it sometime so you can see what I'm talking about.

yea, give us night picks and a how-to! my friends would get so jealous if all of a sudden my gauges and otis are glowing blue and not that fugly turqois/green ****

Now, is blue the only color that would work? I could understand that because you are going from a green light to a blue light. But if I wanted to do red, and put a red gel in front of the green letters, I think that would look like poo. No? Maybe I'm wrong. I only ask because I'm putting in red accent LED's and would like the other stuff to match.

are you going to run your sunroof switch to do something else or do you eventually plan to get a different otis that doesn't have the controls for the roof?

#19 ·
I eventually plan on putting an EVIC+ up there. :p Sorry that I haven't been able to get that how-to written guys, 13 hour work days aren't giving me much incentive to come home and take my car apart. More like collapse on my bed. ;) I'll have it done this weekend though!

There's two of them, one on each side of the car. They can only be reached when the rear clip of the car has been taken off. Here's a picture showing their location:

I'm really sorry about the how-to. I swear, I'm working on it! I've got my spare gauge cluster taken apart on one side of my room with 1/2 the blue gel in it.
