At this point I decided to look at the instructions that came with the headlight strobes.
"Drill 1/2 inch hole yadda yadda yadda"... I whip out the 'ole drill bits and search... when i finally find it I realize how fuggin big it actually is!
I sat there for a while wondering if I really wanted a hole that big in my headlights, but I finally went along with it because otherwise the money i spent on the strobes would have been a waste.
I pulled off the headlight housings to find a good spot to drill the hole. I originally planned on drilling through the top, but there wasn't a good place to do it, so i drilled through the nice flat bottom. The thing is, there is 2 layers you have to drill though - the black plastic, then into the chrome plated plastic plastic stuff. I started off with a very small drill bit because if i was going to mess up i didn't want a huge hole to try and patch. What i ended up doing was:
Drilled the outer plastic to 1/2 inch, but the inner "chrome" plastic I slowly made bigger and bigger until the bulb barely slid through. Next I pushed the bulb all the way into the headlight, screwed the rubber grommet into the 1/2" hole, then gently pulled on the wires to get the bulb back in place.
