KittyKat's 98 Intrepid

4-21-07: Small update =) My intrepid is now road worthy! -happy dance- We have all the windows that needed replaced in ... the body guy at his shop and JR wet sanded & buffed the side that had the scratches from the mirror and it definately helped to make it look better until we can repaint it. the headlight is put in. It still needs some beautification done ... but it's drivable!! and so far we are about $600 into this car (including purchasing the car) Gotta love it! =))

I drove it all over last night and it runs like a DREAM!! I was VERY impressed .. I was kinda expecting the worst since we got such a good deal on it. Now the only major thing left (excluding beautification =) ) is getting plates so I can drive it full time! =))
Will take some updated pics later on today!

4-22-07 .. Got a nice wash and wax today =) Here are some pics of how it's coming along so far

This is my favorite picture ... and you can see my saturn in the background -sigh- I'm going to miss that car when it's gone .. it's been a good faithful car =(

and another

now complete with windows =P

___________________________________

4-7-07 So I finally got some pictures of my car today ... These are going to be my 'before' when it starts coming together =) It's really not in THAT bad of shape ... but poor thing does still need some TLC ... I LOOOOVE this CAR!!!! =)

Retelling the story in case some may not have seen me post about it ... My almost hubby works at a dealership .. the previous owners decided either they couldn't afford or didn't want this car anymore so they took the wheels smashed in some windows and left it sitting for the repo man ... they didn't take good care of the car anyways from the looks of it ... you can tell the side mirror was left dangling ... they didn't know how to park without scraping the parking block ... my almost-hubby (JR) talked to the company that financed their loan and bought the car for me without me knowing because he knew I had wanted an intrepid for WAY TOO LONG! LOL Given the condition the company sold it for $300!!! =) So I really cannot complain about the condition .. just can't wait to get it on the road!!

And yes .. those are caravan wheels LOL I don't think they look too bad ... and it does the job for now!

I think it looks pretty in this picture

And the side with the window missing ( I was mistaken I thought it was the drivers side but it's passengers .. I had only seen the car briefly because he is keeping it at work until we get the windows put in)

The headlight that will soon be replaced once the one I bought off ebay comes in =)

The reason I will be putting a bra on it for a while

May have seen me post about how the previous owners let the side mirror dangle leaving some nasty scratches?? =(

Really the only major thing wrong with the interior ... they have a guy where the almost-hubby works that fixes interior and said he can fix it for me ... keeping my fingers crossed on that one!

The inside cleans up pretty nice we found out after the detail guy got his hands on it =)

Still has a nice rear! (minus the window of course =( )

That's all for now! Thanks for looking! =)

It has the 3.2 =) and yeah it was a great deal ... and with him being a mechanic he keeps finding good deals on getting it fixed ... we can get the windows fixed for about $175 install & all ... and the paint guy where he works will fix the scratched up door for $60 ... soo by the end of getting it back to 'normal' we shouldn't be too far in $$ wise.. which is good because between the kids and the wedding coming up we don't have alot to spare! LOL

It's so sad to see a forest green Intrepid look like that. On the bright side it has better owners than it did. I wonder why anyone would do such a thing to a car regardless of its condition... \
just curious how does it run?

I know it is a sad sight =( but on a better note it has alot of good guys taking care of it! =) the shop/dealership he works at is really great .. you'd think they was all brothers or something ... so they are all pitching in to help get this thing fixed up (hence the deals) .. which almost makes me teary eyed =) I think they're ALL just tired of hearing me bitch about my 94 Saturn! LOL which after driving that thing for 6 years I really can't knock a Saturn ... engine has over 270k on it and still runs perfectly and have only had to replace the timing chain and radiator in all those years ... not too bad for a car we got for free hehe =) but I've been dying for something more eye appealing and newer and hunny came through =)

forgot to add - it runs good ... we have yet to take it on the road though since there is no windows and it's been pretty cold lately ... but he has promised the next warm day it will see some pavement =)

Ahh.. fresh canvas. That Trep looks fully loaded! Nice find. Good luck fixing her up! Post plenty of before and after pics.

Glad to see the jerks that felt it necessary to beat it up before giving it to the repo depot are no longer the owners. Its amazing what meatheads like that will do.

Gotta love the forest green treps!!

I think you will very happy w/that trep. I also love the interior in that one, not too many have the quartz leather.

Good luck getting it on the road.
