Proud New Owner of a 2002 R/T

Well, after a long song and dance, I am now a double Intrepid owner. Besides the 2002 SE (pictures still to come eventually, but trust me it is pretty much as stock as stock can be), I now own a 2002 R/T also (2002 SE going to my son in about a month when he gets his permanent license..). The R/T is stock (still), except wood grain overlays applied by the previous owner. I was quite apprehensive about it, but ended up liking it quite a bit. Might just leave it.... No other mods done to it yet, but have a few in mind... When I got the car, the fog lights did not work (fixed) and only one of the high center tail light bulbs was working (fixed also). Center cap on the front left wheel is missing, waiting for replacement from dealer, but might check the local salvage yard for something compatible (Magnum and/or Charger caps with the rams head would be great. I think they fit too)... Found a good interim fix to avoid having to drive with a 'hole' in the center of these chrome wheels, but SO CHEAP, I am afraid to even post about it.

Car seems in GREAT shape, about 37,000 miles on it. So far I only gave it a good cleaning inside, still have to wash, wax and polish the outside. No pictures taken, but here are pix from the dealer ad:

Note the 'ding' just forward of the fuel door. Got a couple minor scratches on the right passenger door also, should buff out though...

Again, more shots, including interior (dark slate grey leather -almost black- in near perfect condition) to follow later...

Anticipated mods:
Audio system upgrade (even if it is just new speakers... )
Heavy Duty Sway Bar (might do that on the 2002 SE first though.. but then again, maybe not... bar and bushings are on order from the local dealer)
Cold Air Intake

Marty

And by the way: sway bar and bushings total cost about USD 25 or so.... the ASHTRAY insert that is missing would have been USD 68....... SIXTY EIGHT BUCKS... Told the dealer that I think I will be visiting the salvage yard instead

Beautiful! Love the color.
You're gonna love that rear sway bar, btw. Car corners way flatter and has way less roll in general.

great find . i was just looking at going to check out that very same car. it was just 124 mi. from me. see i live in danville va. .im intrested did this intrepid have all of the available options. like traction control autostick and auto climate control. i was trying to find one for my mother. you might have one of those rare ones. the 2002 intrepid r/t. there is only one thing you might want to invest in on these intrepid. that is when you get an alignment job. get the person to lube and grease the tie rod ends with some sort of waterproof lubricant mine had a tendancey to get rusty and i had to replace them with the heavy duty ones i purchase at napa auto parts store. well i wish you really enjoy your intrepid. send us some pictures of it. i gues ill be looking to try and find another 2002 intrepid r/t. Thanks, Tony and all... I am quite excited, no, make that absolutely THRILLED about finding and getting it. Will do Tony's recommendation. Figure I will need new tires on that car anyway sometime later this summer and will do the alignment, etc then. And sorry, Tony, that I snatched that one up... Was about 90 miles from my place.. was worth it though... There is a 2002 ES in Richmond with 1700 miles on it, no leather though, not sure how loaded it is otherwise... Plus a 2002 ES pretty nicely loaded in Tappahannock (more miles though). Both could have been my second option... might want to check these two... The R/T is fully loaded, traction control, auto stick, auto climate, leather, sunroof, but NOT the Infinity sound (ergo first mod will be at least new speakers.. the present ones sound horrible.. Was listening to Verdi's Choir of the Jewish Slaves yesterday, a good recording of it, but could hardly make out the words..)

Now, how many miles is it from Northern Virginia to Carlisle PA???.....hhhmmmm....
