Disk Clean Program

At one point I had this program where it would clean up your hard drive for you but not like the windows program the first time you ran it the program could delete like 2gb of stuff. It would take off all of the data from old files that you had deleted but pieces remain. I just deleted like 5gb today and it only freed up 1gb on my HD but I can't find this computer no matter where I look does anyone know of a program like this?

Give a try what etfuller recommended. I say your drive is just extremely fragmented or some sectors were moved around. Is the read/seek time slow?

I think he's talking about Spinrite..

Just use CCleaner then defrag the drive. While you're at it you can use TuneXP and defrag the boot sectors and push the pagefile to the begining next to the bootloader.

I have CCleaner and I use it religiously but I don't have enough free space on my drives to defrag. Everything runs fine but this program that I had would delete the leftover pieces things you have deleted it won't make a big difference if you use it all the time but over time it builds up. It's like when you delete something you can use software to recover it because some hint of it is left somewhere well this program would delete that stuff since it can build up over time. It isn't a really popular program and I had it like 5 years ago.
