1GB RDRAM too much for Word???
This is weird. Ever since my computer at work was upgraded from 512MB of Rambus to 1GB of Rambus, some functions in Microsoft Word has slowed down dramatically. Most noticeably is when I highlight some text, and then right mouse click and click on 'copy'. After I do this the program hangs anywhere from just a couple of seconds to a minute or two. It never did this before the memory increase. Other functions that have slowed down from time to time are the 'paste' and when I load or close a file. But the 'copy' problem seems to happen over 95% of the time. But, after I do it once, most of the time if I highlight different text and do the 'copy' thing, it won't hang as long as it is the same file.
Any ideas? I don't feel like bugging the IT people here. But when I do, I would like to have some ideas of what may be causing this.
P.S. Only Word seems to have this slow down.
