It already hit the Ontario government. We can't log into our server, and it looks like we aren't getting paid this week either.

From what I understand, and I don't really, it's aimed at larger corporations

Here's the bullitin we got last week

WHAT IS HAPPENING?

A virus known as “Conficker C” has been detected within the OPS. Proliferation of this virus may cause harm to the OPS network environment.

Rigorous steps are being taken by Infrastructure Technology Services (ITS) & Corporate Security to ensure that the impact of this virus threat is minimal.

Nevertheless, it is important to remain aware of any potential risks to the OPS and be diligent in preventing any prospective attacks.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

The Corporate Security Information Protection Centre and ITS are taking the necessary steps to combat possible “Conficker C” infections and mitigate any potential impact to the OPS network.

Patching efforts have already been initiated to address any underlying vulnerabilities in OPS workstations.

Any workstations that are determined to be infected with the “Conficker C” virus will be removed from the network immediately. This means that you may lose network connectivity unexpectedly.

WHO MAY BE AFFECTED

All OPS I&IT Clients

WHAT THIS MEANS TO YOU

If you receive any virus alerts from your McAfee Anti-Virus software, please shutdown and unplug your computer from the network immediately and contact
