I personally have been waiting for Netflix to raise their prices. They should do it, we are underpaying for what they give us be a large margin. I use netflix a lot more than cable these days.

I personally pay to get blu ray service for a few reasons. Getting 3d through netflix is one of them. If I really cared I could drop it, but getting new releases on blu ray still appeals to me.

I just got Netflix service thru the Wii and the kids love it. The Wife and I added the DVD rentals for $2 more a month, just at $10 per month. I got that email and thought it was a bait and switch thing because we are new and using the service.

I'll be streaming for the kids, Redbox'ing it for me and the Wife.

Looks like on September 1st or shortly afterwards...they'll be jacking up the prices. They might lose a long time customer here.

I used to get their 3 DVD plan with streaming, then I changed to 1 DVD when I got my cable back on. Shortly after that, I dropped the DVDs because they just sat for days before I'd watch it. I'm only streaming on my 360 now so it doesn't really effect me.

Redbox is still crap compared to Netflix. Only reason to do it is if you really don't use it that often so the cost isn't worth justifying.

If I read that article correctly... nothing is changing? Streaming is 8 bucks a month, as the advertisement goes... and the new price for streaming is $7.99?

Why are people crying over this? I watch DVDs on Netflix by streaming to my PS3. No issues with doing that (though I do have 25 MBPs down through FiOS)... so I'm not understanding the issue.

Streaming is staying the same price, but DVD by mail is its own separate membership instead of an additional 2 bucks. So for me I pay 7.99 for streaming and 9.99 for dvd service with blu ray.

I'm one of the few who still do the DVDs by mail. I haven't had cable or internet at home for like 4 years now... I'm never home much.

I signed up for Netflix within the past couple of months, I thought the $9.95 for both streaming and DVD's was a damn good value. Now that they are splitting the DVD service from the Streaming service, I think I will cancel my DVD service. I need to rip the DVD's in my queue still.

Besides, I have a DVD-Recorder that I need to test to see if I can record what I want while streaming.

Have they improved the availability of movies to stream? When we got the Wii at Christmas, we tried to stream the videos in our DVD queue, and most were not available to stream. The selection was poor then. Can't say that I've checked it out lately, but has this improved?

Its slowly improving, but really where they have gotten some decent content is in the old TV shows category.
