Question New HDMI screen not working? crazy !

ok so i found this ASUS 24" computer monitor at a reallllly low price in this discount electronics store. kinda like an "open box" store. anyways i picked it out, then tested it on VGA and HDMI, at the store. worked perfect. then, i get it home and the VGA works, but the HDMI doesnt work. i thought maybe my computer had a bad video card. so i hooked it up to a HDMI DVD player and still no worky. it just blings " HDMI no input" but when i unplug the cord it just sleeps. same with the computer. so having seen the monitor work at the store, i wasnt sure if it was a bad cable or what so i took the dvd player and cable to the store to test, and they both work fine. im clueless at this point, any help would be MUCH appreciated

Press the button just to the left of the Power button, it will cycle through the available inputs. Press it until you see your desktop...

Not sure if this will help on not i pulled it off another site.

If the DVD works at the store but not at home then you need to test the monitor at the store to make sure it's still working in HDMI mode.

I had some trouble getting my HTPC to output in HDMI correctly but that was because I got the sound quality cranked too high at the computer. But I'm sure your DVD doesn't have specific controls like that to worry about so it should work regardless.

Have you ever used the HDMI output on your PC before? Is the HDMI output on your PC via a seperate video card or via Integrated Graphics on the motherboard?

However you said you brought you DVD/Cable into the store and it worked on a different monitor? Sounds like the monitor you bought has a fooked up HDMI input now for some reason.

Did you toggle monitor from analog (VGA) to digital?

ive never used HDMI on the desktop, but there is no reason it shouldnt work, its built-in. its an acer aspire x1300 running vista. and yes it worked on a different monitor

yep it goes into HDMI mode just fine, but it either displays nothing or says no signal.

That's why I asked you previously if you had ever used the HDMI output on your PC before this.
