Many of us in Canada using the @home netowrk through Rogers Cable have been somewhat blessed as our cable company worked hard to set up their own network. The new network has been up for almost a month with the [email protected] network shutting off at the end of January. So we have/had a period of time whereby our old email addresses worked/working and the new ones are in place. Although they have been a pain in the butt before, they did fine by me this time.
Actually, to get people to make the computer modifications quickly, they had draws fo $50.00, $100.00, $500.00 to $10,000.00 gift certificates at Radio Scrap and Future Shop, soon to be Best Buy.
I won nothing, even tho' I give those crooks plenty of dough each month for cable, digital cable and internet.

Anyhow, we are working fine, and there is life after [email protected]

That is what this was.

Cox sent out change over kits. They log onto the old @home server and point all the addresses to the new one with a verification number sent in the kit. Only had one issue with it though. Cox's server would not respond during the cut over correctly. So the @home server would shut off the old mail but cox would not activate the new one. This was fixed last night and now is going very smooth.
Cox & Comcast had paid @home for access via their networks till the end of Feburary per they had already been working on their own networks of access. This just gave them the time to finish those plans.
Congrads to the Comcast guys. You got the AT&T broadband network too. Which means Comcast will probably offering what Cox does now. Local Telephone services over your cable as well as TV and Internet. With Cox they are $10 a month cheaper for one phone and second line is only $5. At first was kind of leary of this setup per if cable or internet goes out, would there be a phone service to call in problems?
