Old Laptop

Hey...

My buddy gave me this old laptop he had lying around. It's a NEC Versa 2000C (???) It's a 486. I figure it'll be a perfect word processor/spreadsheet type of computer I can bring on the job.

Laptop

Anyway, the hard drive is wiped clean. And since it's so old I either have to run Windows 3.11 or 95. And it has to be on floppy since this thing only has a floppy drive and I'm not going to spend any cash on a CD drive...(so it would most likely be 3.11 I guess.)

Any idea if I can still get Windows 3.11 anywhere? (I can't believe I'm actually asking this)

I might have a copy of Win3.11 at home on floppy, will check tonight and email them to you in a zip if I do.

You could also check on Morpheus Morpheus Home Page Lots of people post up software out there. Might even get lucky and find one of the Win95 on floppy listings. There was like 27 disk in the set.

I tried Kazaa to no avail...I'll give Morpheus a try...but if you have it, I'd appreciate it.

Thanks

If you're looking for Win95 (with key) on CD, I can burn you a copy.

I'm all set. I loaded up 3.11 on it and it runs like a charm. I will soon upgrade it to 95.

I love the internet, I just found Word on Kazaa and loaded it on there. So now I pretty much have everything I wanted for this.

Thanks for all the help guys.

all that in one day! Wow! Just in case you need extra stuff or want to upgrade easy from CD. I have an external CD-ROM (panasonic) that goes thru the PCMCIA. Also have a 28.8 PCMcIA Scout fax/modem I'll part with fairly cheap.
