One long beep

what happens is that once the computer is on for a while, this long beep starts and everthing freezes...what could this be?

That has happend to mine before too. Dunno what did it. I don't expect anything less from my sweet machine though. :p

Usually this is due to bad ram, a bad CPU, overheating, and/or mis-seated RAM and/or CPU.

Sounds like you pissed off your computer.

Are you running any applications when this happens?

That song is the safety alarm on your motherboard that is for detecting too hot of a temperature. Need to look at your case. Clean the fan vents of dust. Also check the heatsink on your cpu. Make sure it has some themal compound on it between the cpu and heatsink. Make sure the fan(s) are running in all the vents, especially the cpu heatsink. You can purchase extra fans for your case at local computer supplies if your case has the available mounts for it.

I would also suggest using the following program to watch your temperature.

Motherboard monitor. Nice utility for making sure you don't lock up at the wrong times.

Depends on the BIOS manufacture as well. They never standardized beep/POST codes. Could be any number of things but usually it's related to CPU or memory.
