Some opinions on games.....

Here we go.....I bought a "deluxe" AMD Radeon HD card that came with a coupon for one free game. I'm not much of a gamer period and have just started dabbling in "high-end" video cards. Granted my recent purchases until now have been used cards that still do a decent job especially at their price points.

Anyway here's the list of Game choices available to me:

Deus Ex Human Revolution™
DiRT® 3
DiRT® Showdown
Far Cry® 3
Far Cry® 3 Blood Dragon
Sleeping Dogs™

Anyone have any of these games? Any recommendations on selection? Post your opinions...why you'd choose one over the other...etc. You can get into as much detail as you want or just a "Buy this one or this or whatever". Just looking to see what opinions are.

Again..I'm not a gamer period..but I do have that coupon!!

The two Dirt games look to be a good option...but what do I know! Help me out here!

Well, in short, what type of game styles have you prefered? I'm a hardcore shooter guy, and love a good Real Time Strategy game. Love a racing simulator on the console, Forza and Gran Turismo for example. I usually go after games with multiplayer, or something that can offer an unbeliueveable plate full of amazing graphics, story and gameplay (think Bioshock Infinite).

Deus Ex Human Revolution - Skip, I'm a gamer and had to Google it. Looks bleh, and only a singleplayer shooter.

Dirt 3 is rally focused, very fun franchise, if your into rally, upgrading and customizing it'll keep you busy for hours.

Dirt Showdown is the clown version of Dirt series. Played the demo on my xbox. Was fun with friends, boring quickly alone. But again it offers a lot of replayability as Dirt 3, with a more arcade approach.

FarCry 3 was hailed for being the perfect installment in the series. Great story, amazing graphics. But once you beat the story, that's it. Unless you're keen to try multiplayer! The joys of shooters online, stressful, frustrating. The joys of nine year olds screaming at you - questioning your testicular fortitude because they killed you multiple times. Once you're hooked, you'll go back for more and more though.

Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon is a standalone expansion. More or less a retro twist to the game. Single player only. so bare in mind replay-ability. Haven't played this one myself.

Sleeping Dogs - Grand Theft Auto without multiplayer. I've heard mixed things.

dirt 3 and showdown are pretty fun....more for playing online with others...the other games, meh....played them, not impressed....I own all the farcry games....all are good....but once u beat the game its over...so I personally would go for the racing games...they are fun! I bought a PC X-Box controller to play DIRT....its a lot easier and cheap....online Dirt is also fun...

I'm an Uber-Noob for gaming. Never have owned any and don't have any now. That's why I started this thread. Don't know gaming console games or anything else from a hole in the ground...etc.

Looks like I'll be getting "Dirty"!

It was a HD 7770 with 2gb RAM. It was on sale for a real low price. Like a third of the next step up.

Put it in the Deluxe PC with an AMD FX 6-Core Black Edition FX-6200 and 8gb of RAM. It flies! Haven't even bothered to overclock anything. Tossed the 120gb SSD in and did a fresh install of Win 7 Ultimate x64. Gnarly Fast!

This rig is for sale! Make me an offer over $500!

using a radeon 6570 in my one computer & geforce GT620 in the other. both do a good job for what do of play games , video and music.
but a word to the wise on the 6000 series cards. you cant use an adapter on the DVI plug. dvi to vga
tech support told me this after i messed with card trying to get 2nd monitor working.
you need dvi end (from video card) to either VGA or dvi end (depends on what your monitor has on it)
had to get the cable (24.99 +tax) to get 2 monitors working

I think I've got it covered as far as ports are concerned on the HD 7770.

What's the brand on that card? Does it have a DVI-D connector or DVI-I?

1x DVI-I port. 1x DVI-D port, 1x standard HDMI and a Display Port connector.

Think I have one or two Dell monitors sitting in the closet that have Display Port connections. need to check on that!
