Removing Playlists in Windows Media Player 10

I am having a problem getting my old playlists to dissapear from my playlist window on Windows Media Player 10. I removed the playlists from the hard drive of my computer thinking that would get rid of them, no I have a problem... they show up like they were still there but when I click on them in WMP 10 it does not do anything. New playlists work fine, it just annoying me having a bunch that don't work.

Any help is appreciated! I am going to try uninstalling and re-installing WMP and hope that fixes my problem, although I think I've done that before and it didn't help.

Anyone have any advice for me? I just tried reinstalling the program but I still have the non-functioning playlists showing up. I downloaded WMP 10 from microsoft's website to reload with, still didn't help.

If anyone has any advice or knows how to fix my problem, PLEASE let me know.
Thanks!

  1. Start Windows Media Player
  2. Click the Library tab
  3. Click My Playlists on the left
  4. Click the playlist you want to delete on the right
  5. Press the Delete key
  6. Make sure you have "Delete from Library and My Computer" selected
  7. Click OK

The playlist should be gone.

Thanks a bunch! It is giving me an error saying it's not on my computer, but I think I can get past that. I never use the library view so that's why I was having problems figuring that one out.
