It went boom....

My mom's old celeron box at work finally croaked. YES!
Dude, the Dell is dead!

I get to build her a new box.

Preliminary specs:

Form Factor: micro ATX
CPU: Athlon 64 3200, socket AM2
mainboard: Asus or Gigabyte Geforce 6150 chipset
Memory: 1GB DDR-2
HDD: 250GB Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 SATA 2.5
optical drive: NEC 16x DVD-RW
Power: 400W Fortron

Case: whatever she wants (as long as it meets my specs too!)

MSI makes the best boards out there actually. Granted it was an INTEL study, but about a year ago when they were having issues with MB production, they ran the top 5 manufactureres through their quality control environment, and MSI came out as good as intel boards..

just my 2 cents. I have had an Asus board that never gave me trouble at all.. its about 6 years old now, and still runs like a champ.. at 700mhz..
